Buddhist Temples Chinese Buddhism Guan Yin (bodhisattva)

Built high on Sellicks Hill on the Fleurieu Peninsula stands a majestic 18-metre-high Guan Yin, the Bodhisattva of compassion, mercy and protection. She is offered by the temple to promote peace. The installation was given priority over the subsequent building of the temple and other facilities. The South Australian government recognises the site as a cultural attraction and many visitors enjoy the peaceful environment under her gaze.
